Line Research
Slide projector, slide of drawn line, 5 books with word "line" in title,
2008
Uses the line as a formal, in-between motif. A slide projector is propped up by books with the word “line” in their titles and projects a slide image of a pencil drawn line onto the wall. The books are discharged from the library that is closest to where the piece is installed and returned after the exhibition, thus making the piece always site-specific and different each time it is exhibited. The process of visiting the library and searching the catalogue for books with the word “line” in the title ads a dimension of the everyday.
Installation in Classroom 102 Gallery at George Washington University. Books are discharged from the GWU Gelman Library.
